Alternatives to Violence Project (AVP) Greater Manchester is part of a wider group, AVP Britain. We are a network of volunteers running workshops for anyone who wants to find ways of resolving conflict. A low-cost membership scheme is planned.

CAAT is a broad coalition of groups and individuals working to end all government subsidies and support for arms exports, end arms exports to oppressive regimes, to those engaged in armed conflict or in a region of tension and exports to countries whose social welfare is threatened by military spending. CAAT supports measures both in the UK and internationally to regulate and reduce the trade and lead to its eventual end.

Eve's Back is a women's networking magazine that aims to inform, entertain and keep women in touch with each other. Each quarterly issue contains news, campaign updates, features, interviews, reviews and four pages of packed listings and contact information for women of Manchester, the North West and beyond. Manchester Friends of the Earth works for a sustainable world and environmental justice. Locally they are campaigning for locally produced organic food, better public transport and against any plans for more incin-eration. Campaigns meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month starting at 7pm in the Friends Meeting House. Membership on a sliding scale between £5 (low waged) to £20 (groups).
