Manchester marches against war
Up until the "peace fire", Manchester continued to show its deep concerns over the NATO bombardment in the Balkans.

no more wars Thousands turned out on April's regional demonstration against the Balkans war with a march from Platt Fields to Albert Square where Alice Mahon MP and local trade unionists and socialists addressed the crowds.

Another demonstration was called for early May to protest at the lack of mainstream media coverage of anti-war demos. This local event still attracted a few hundred people who held a vigil outside the BBC.
