Silver Lining for Transport

GMTAG 25th AGM In mid-November, Greater Manchester Transport Action Group (GMTAG) celebrated their 25 years of campaigning for improved public transport for all people in the region. Chris Mulligan, Director General of GMPTE, addressed a well attended celebratory event and spoke of the local implications of this year's Transport White Paper. Chris stressed that any legislation would have to wait (since proven by the Queen's speech) and that the initial emphasis would be on measures that were quick to implement. GMTAG's secretary Ken Child was also congratulated on his 25 years of outstanding voluntary service to local transport issues.
